Sternglas has been a premium partner in our store for 3 years. We are the only company in Berlin to exclusively offer the entire Sternglas brand collection. This also includes special editions, watch models produced in limited numbers. We offer collectors and lovers of unusual timepieces pieces with special model numbers, such as the combination 333/999. As part of our last event on December 6, 2022, we presented the Berlin watch from the Sternglas brand.
In good company with cocktails and music from the DJ, visitors and representatives of the press were able to convince themselves of the special design language and the specific functional properties of this new model. Further events with Sternglas are planned in the near future.
Sternglas - the watches
The clockwork
The heart of every timepiece is the movement. The design of the movement determines the functionality, design and additional functions of the watch. Products from the traditional Swiss manufacturer Ronda are used for the battery-operated quartz movements of Sternglas watches. This guarantees excellent quality and the highest precision. The mechanical movements of the automatic watches come from the Japanese manufacturer Miyota. Miyota movements are valued worldwide for their precision and robustness. In terms of reliability, they do not have to fear comparison with Swiss movements.
Sternglas relies in particular on Miyota movements, which are characterized by low maintenance requirements. Overhauling a high-quality watch can be very expensive. It is advantageous for the user if the maintenance intervals are not too close together. Sternglas has already taken this into account when designing its watches.
The housing
The cases of the ternglas watches are characterized by their robust design and quality. The case back, middle part and bezel are made of high-quality stainless steel alloy 316L. This meets the high quality requirements of the medical sector. High-precision manufacturing, assembly and finishing of the cases ensure a high-quality appearance and outstanding functional properties.
Models that can withstand water pressure of up to 20 atmospheres can be used for dives of up to 200 meters. Additional seals made of low-wear materials on the base, glass and crown are special quality features and ensure the smooth functioning of the watch.
The watch glass
The dial
The dial and hands give a watch its individual, specific character. Minimalist, reduced design conveys the spirit of timelessness and Bauhaus style. High-quality brass is the material of choice for making the dials. Strength and high durability are the characteristics of this material. Indices and lettering are applied using a high-precision printing process.
The hands
The hands of the Sternglas watches are made of brass or aluminum and are only 0.1 millimeters to 0.15 millimeters thick. High precision during production ensures that the hands can be positioned exactly parallel to the dial surface. The exact alignment is maintained throughout the entire rotation of the hands. Subsequent painting of one or all of the hands allows the setting of colorful accents.
The leather straps
The leather straps of the Sternglas watches are predominantly made in Germany. Manufacturers in the Bavarian Forest use materials made from calf and cow leather from selected German and Italian farms. The tanning of the straps preserves the natural feel of the leather.
The quick-change system
The quick-change system allows you to quickly and easily change the strap. This means that the look of the watch can be customized at any time. From elegant understatement to dynamic sportiness, almost any design option is possible thanks to the wide range of straps.

The quality promise
After the case parts have been assembled and the straps made, they are brought together at Sternglas in Hamburg. The Sternglas timepiece is created. Before delivery, each watch is subjected to a final quality inspection. This checks the flawless workmanship of the case and the perfect condition of the sapphire glass and strap. The watch is only delivered when the result of this inspection meets Sternglas' high quality standards.
Sternglas - the company
In the beginning there was the idea. The aim was to create a high-quality watch with a minimalist, reduced appearance, based on the Bauhaus style, at a fair price. This vision presented some challenges. Realizing all of these requirements was extremely demanding. But that's just how it is with big visions. Passion, enthusiasm, and a dash of idealism are the mixture that ultimately led to the founding of Sternglas. The reduced watch design specific to Sternglas was developed, a company logo was created, and photos and videos were produced. As befits a start-up, the funds for the production of the first batch of watches were raised through crowdfunding in 2016. The first Sternglas timepieces were created. Step by step, more models were added, the product range was expanded, and the collection was expanded.
